Hubby and I are getting excited about a 2000 U.S. Savage Rally.
But as the keeper of the finances (as well as the WD
himself) I've got a problem.
Money's tight for us right now - REAL tight. I'm a full
time student and we basically live hand-to-mouth.
Granted, that's not y'all's (how's that for a double contraction!?)
problem - but it is a problem if we're going to host the meet.
What I want to know is this: How many of you, those
who are planning to come, would be willing to actually
send in registration fees? Money to cover the cost of
BBQ, reserving a group camping site, etc. It means trusting
us, and I don't know exactly how to reassure everyone
that we're serious about putting together a rally, and
not going to abscond with any money.
(Granted we're not talking about a LOT of money, but still...)
I'm planning to put together a website for the rally: this
will have directions to our house, pictures of us, maps,
schedules, etc. Is that enough reassurance?
Please give me some feedback. WD and I don't want to
waste anyone's time by promising a rally that we can't
deliver (due to not having any money to put it on!)
And, assuming this goes down as planned, what do you
guys think about donating any overage (from 50-50 drawings,
etc.) to the "Make-A-Wish" Foundation? Or is there another
charity someone's particularly attached to?
Thanks for your input.
